Camping is fun but many people go unprepared and then complain they had a lousy time. To have a great time at a camping trip it is essential to be well prepared. Some of the things that you should be prepared for include:Mosquitoes. These dastardly insects can ruin your vacation. So take some bug spray or a mosquito net. Dress in bright clothes and use mosquito sprays and candles. While this does not guarantee that you won’t be bitten, but the frequency will be a lot reduced.

Site selection: Choose a camping site away from the water. Mosquitoes like to collect around water puddles and drainage ditches. While open space is great, sometimes the wind can be strong and freeze you at night. Make sure the ground is flat so that water does not collect when it rains.
Dress well. Just too many people go camping dressed in outrageous clothing. Do
not wear a suit or brand new clothes to a camp site. Wear old clothes and always
bring a jacket. No matter how warm it is during the day, most camp sites feel
cold at night. Take extra socks and blankets. You must bring a pair of water
proof shoes. Wearing sandals is fine on the beach but if you need to go hiking,
you need proper shoes. A hat and sunglasses are not mandatory but they do
protect against the sun and the rain. Many people love to wear jeans. But jeans
have one minor flaw. When they get wet, they almost never dry up quickly.
Security: Everyday we read about muggings and robberies at camp sites. So keep
safety in mind. Know where you are and let others in your family where you plan
to be. Keep a phone handy. Be familiar with the surroundings. If you do not know
where the park rangers office is, make an attempt to find it. And you must
discuss safety issues with your family and children. At night, you must always
have safety in mind and have a plan just in case something
happens.
Photographs; With the digital cameras available today, there is
not too much hassles of ruining a picture. If you take a bad picture, you can
immediately view it and delete it and repeat the process again.
Sleeping:
If you decide to sleep in a tent, you should generally face away from the wind.
The wind not only makes it cold but if there is any smoke from the fire place it
will all enter the tent. Sleeping on the hard ground is not fun, so bring a nice
sleeping bag which is thick, warm and comfortable.
In most cases,
enjoying a camping tip requires a bit of common sense and some degree of prior
preparation.
